In a world awash with “big data,” should a lack of objective measurements render individual observations irrelevant?

When I tell people that Las Vegas has “changed,” it’s an assertion that really isn’t backed up by mountains of data, excel spreadsheets or in-depth polling results from gamblers, locals and tourists.
